Dr. Colquhoun has a special interest and expertise in surgery of the Liver, Pancreas and Biliary tract. His training in surgery was at UCLA and included fellowships in both Surgical Oncology and Multi-Organ Transplantation. Early in his career he founded a new liver transplant program at the University of California Davis before being recruited to Cedars-Sinai where he directed the Liver Transplant Program for next 20 years. During that time, he also established and directed a Fellowship authorized by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons for training in both Liver & kidney transplantation as well as Hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery. A proud recipient of teaching awards, Dr. Colquhoun is passionate about education and has lectured at the UCLA medical school for over 18 years while participating in the training of a generation of residents and fellows throughout his career. He has served on medical school admissions and many committees for the ASTS, AST, AASLD and UNOS. He continues to actively participate in clinical research and has published over 200 abstracts, papers and book chapters. He is the past recipient of numerous research grants and funds, including from the NIH. Most importantly, Dr. Colquhoun takes pride in providing excellent and compassionate patient care with 24/7 availability.
